Field guide / 001

Learn the register.

Your objective is always visible: transform the eight-bit register until its value matches the target. Intercept Echo introduces each operation before combining them.

01 / COUNT

Build the value

00010011

Tap cells on or off. Each place has a value—128 through 1—and the lit cells add up to your answer.

02 / SHIFT

Move every bit

00100110

Shift left to double; shift right to halve. A bit pushed over an edge disappears, so plan before you move.

03 / ROTATE

Wrap the edge

10001001

Rotate moves every bit too, but the bit at the edge loops around instead of being lost.

Decode protocol

Crack letters.
Protect your signal.

Pick a blank in the intercepted message. Solve its register puzzle to reveal the letter and earn points. Miss the target and the transmission consumes signal.

A

Look for structure

Repeated letters and familiar word shapes are valuable clues.

B

Use fewer moves

Efficient solutions earn better scores. The shortest path matters.

C

Guess when ready

Recognize the transmission early? Risk a whole-message guess.

No binary background is required. Start with Count and the game will teach you the rest.
